1985 LN60 went..tic..tic..tic..Booom!!!

Post by nzst0rm »

Hi fellas well im a newbie as you can see , But any hoo i bought a 85 LN60-T off some young kid who had obviously given it death from day one.
Well it was sweet for a while started to smoke heavily then one day coming back from the Mac it started to rev off the clock on its own running on its own until i managed to choke it in 5th stalling it........ it blew 4 & 1/2 Litres of oil out of the dip stick & with no oil pressure managed to get it back to Chch smoke cloud & all opened the bonnet to find the dipstick had been blown out & had oil from ear hole to A-hole and i haven't touched it since.

So i called Garth from Checking & yes it needs a full rebuild i dont want a patch up job i want it done right so........ from here where & or what next.

Some good advice on a rebuild would be great, Im keeping the truck & figured well that's getting done ill attack the rest of it, Ive already spent some time cleaning and sealing the whole under neath but what i would like to do is get some more height and probably go to 33"

Its already had a 50ml body lift.

Thx

If you can afford to, I'd look at fitting a 3L or a 5l in and drop a turbo or a supercharger on it.
