Add-A-Leaf HD springs

Ok, so it appears my truck has an extra leaf added to the front:


Either the 3rd or 4th leaf down not sure, one of them definately doesnt look like it belongs there. Basically its stiff as **** on the road, and has virtually no flex off road. Wondering if I should undertake the task of removing the extra leaf to see what happens, if I can work out which one doesnt belong. I can't afford the $500 for new or reset leaves at the moment, but would like it to be a bit less harsh on road and more usuable off. Height is not so much of a worry as I only run 31"s.
Whats you guys opinions?

yep toast the lower one and see how she travels

removing a single leaf shouldnt be an issue if you decide to remove more in the future be awere of "axle tramp or twist"

where the pack is nolonger strong enough to hold the diff in the true line to the trans box and the result is snaped pinions or UJs

So get rid of the 4th one down? This looks to be the extra one as the clamp at the front of it has been cut (obviously wouldnt fold down over such a thick pack) so god knows where the extra leaf came from but i'm guessing its just a random leaf that been chucked in. Truck used to have an ARB steel winch bar before I brought it so probably was added to take the extra weight. As far as I can research standard hilux springs are a 5 leaf pack, so shouldnt be any worse than standard. Depends how sagged they are

Finally got round to taking the fronts out today. Ditched the 4th leaf down. Rides much better now and should flex a lot better. Bonus it only dropped it maybe 10mm lower at the most.
