The 1.6 has a different spline on the driveshafts and different (lower) ratio diff. Easiest solution would be for you to fit your internals to a steel diff housing.

True on most cases but you can get 26 spline 4 cylinder diffs, but kernels is right, swap out the parts want to use. You might need to gat the pinion setup professionally. Use 5.12 ratio diffs as they are lower and better offroad with bigger tyres, it's a worthwhile change.

where do i find the 5.12 ratio diffs
Re: v6 suzuki broken front diff help please
You can have the 26 spline side-gears from your current diff swapped over to a 5.12 ratio diff from a 1.6L
If churchill still has the 26 spline 5.12 front locker for sale that could be worth the money too.

so if i take the internals of mine i can mix it with the internals of a 1.6 and get it lower geared provided i take it to someone who knows what they are doing
Re: v6 suzuki broken front diff help please
Correct, swapping bits of diffs require a few special tools and a bit of know-how, but shouldn't be too expensive.

if i do the front do i have to do the rear
Re: v6 suzuki broken front diff help please
Yes, diff ratios have to be the same front and rear otherwise damage will occur.
Re: v6 suzuki broken front diff help please
I do have a 5.12 alloy front diff with an air locker in it if you're interested.
