70 prado front spring height

Post by SASurf »

Gday everybody
I have a prado beam axle in the front of my kzn130 and im not sure what height lift springs i have (if they are lift springs).
With the springs are under the trucks weight, I measure 275mm from the bottom spring seat to the top spring seat.
The springs were in the workshop when the conversion was being done so they were just chucked in.
Any help would be wicked :D
Cheers
Jeremy

Mine is about 300mm with 100mm gap from axle to bump stop. (L/H side)
I would consider it to be about a 3 inch lift....
They are sagged and were custom coils made via Cobra springs (chamberlains chch) and used to be a 4 inch lift
But I have a heavy bull bar and winch out front....
When I got it some 10 years ago, I would have been lucky to have a 20mm gap between axle and bump stop........
Cheers Calvin

Awsum thanks heaps.
Im guessing they are about 50mm lift springs.
Guess the next step is to talk to chamberlains about some 3" lift springs.
I got a tube bar and warn winch on the front so 3" springs should be a good upgrade :) . Dam factory springs...
Thanks again

i was running 60mm lifted prado springs in mine and i had to run massive lifted 80 springs in the rear. It really depends on where they welded the spring hats on the chassis rails as mine has about a 6 inch suspension lift which is why i had to get the rear of my truck modified as well.

Looking at this pick of your truck, my shock/spring tower is about 80mm further forward and the chassis is a bit higher so i think i might need 3" springs to make up the difference and a bit higher too
