I've been battling away with the high-mount alternator install in the Lada - man it's hard! Oh well, it'll be worth it in the end :D

Replaced the fuse box to accept "blade" type fuses. Replaced tail lights with LED submersible units. Just need to sort the flasher unit so it can cope with the reduced load...

Getting closer to being ready to get the once over for VIN and WOF etc..

Photos being worked on.

Finally got the guts to do the camel cut. Had to get new tyres so ended up with 31/10.5/15's on steel rims. Had a look at a Discovery Camel took measurements and pics, went home took a deep breath then started.Pics at site below as have trouble posting them here.

Took the new JT2's for a wee road trip. Chch to Taipo Hut for Fri night. Sat up to Charleston and into Tailings Track . 2 playdoh's minor panel dings. 80 series winched all last 1/2 k cause blew frnt diff. And would you believe the landrover didnt break or bend anything (Put about 5000km wear on the silverstones with some bent 8 noise action up the boulder climb out of the last creek tho   ) Great day.
Got a bit tired on Sun - drove to bottom of Slab Hill, walked it, talked shit, got scared (it was even totally dry but that is a hell deep trench now and my rims don't offset out past body), turned round and went home.

@ chop; Cheers - Repco (ripco) had none on stock. Got a Tridon one from Supercheap for $19 and it works a treat - better than when I did the same mod on my last truck.

Also fitted new flexi flares to the rear guards, and spent this evening studying up on WOF requirements.

Interesting how 2-stroke and rotary engines get special smoke rules but not for diesels. Hmmm

Spent the whole weekend in low range (to prevent me from speeding)
Parked quite a few thousand cars in fields, 25 odd jump starts and relocated half a dozen wrongly parked cars. Toasted my Runva.
Had a small observation; if you drag a car fast enough on wet grass, you can turn quick and sent them out on the whip like seabiscuit
Saw a truck load of camel toes
Heaps of young talent.
3 day music festivals are full on when it rains. Shear dresses become see-through when wet with HID's :P
Great weekend, me thinks.
Cheers,
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!
