GQ Safari Windscreen washer motors

Post by Nis-man »

Hi Folks
I have a Safari and it has the common problem of the front and rear washer motors leaking, does anybody have an idea where I could get good replacements or has anybody done an after market modifications to fix the problem?

From what i've seen its just the rubber seal that the pumps push into on the tank that leak, my headlamp washer bottle leaked from here. Prehaps just pull them out and run some gasket maker or other silicon around them and push back in..or if your feeling brave ask nissan how much new seals are :P

They are leaking through the seal around the motor shaft and through the body of the electric motor, not brave enough to ask Nissan, might have to look for something aftermarket?

I run a rearscreen pump on the front anyway, they pump more , as they are for the rear window and have to push it farther

Sounds like a good idea but my rear one is leaking too, the only one that isn't is the one for the front headlights which I have pulled out so I might see if I can do something with that one. Thanks for your help.

mine were leaking so pulled them out and really tightly wound couple of layers of insulation tape around the seal.then very carefully pushed it back in. did that over a year ago now and there still no leaks :)
