:D hey mate welcome.

firts thing when joing is put ya location in your profile for others to see and a pic of your truck up.

prob wana pic yourself up some recovery straps and get some tow hooks sorted on your truck first up.

there is plenty of threds on tyres etc on here which wouldnt be a bad next step.

Auck is a bit starved for places to go other than Murawai beach and woodhill 4wd park there aint to much near the city.

Im also prity new to the whole thing but am loving every bit of it, snaped shocks and all. :D

hope to meet ya out and about one day.

it would be worthwhile getting out on a few prospective member trips with one of the Auck 4wd clubs to see what they do and how they do it and what they do to their trucks before you leap into anything or make the start on spending $1000's or $10,000's on your truck as everybody does when they get hooked :D

What he said... go along to one of the local club meetings, introduce yourself and get out on a club run in your truck or take up a spare passenger seat with one of the experienced members.

Don't under estimate how much you will learn spending time in the passenger seat of a truly experienced 4x4er :D

Ford courier ute is fine little truck to start in, had one myself,
found radiator is a bit low and fills with mud
the drive is mainly to the rear axle under power in 4x4, pull handbrake on to feed power to the front axle
ARB lockers are available, so are auto lockers
buy rims with more offset than standard and good mud tyres,
have fun
