1uz blowing fuses??

Post by jeffw »

I've got a surf that has a 1uz put in it. I replace the altenator and ever since the charge light on the dash has never come on and the battery still hasn't Been charging. I had a quick play offroad on Sunday and it blew the ignition fuse and now blows them as soon as the key is turned. Any ideas as to what would cause this

the old altenator was off a v6 windom, the new altenator was also off a v6 windom but had a slightly different number and had a round instead of oval plug. was told they would be fine to swap the ends over but im not sure

were you able to ID the pins or did you just guess the pinouts when you swapped the plugs over?

I used the plug and associated parts off the original altenator and swapped them onto the new one. It all looked the same so I thought it would be fine

so did you use a wiring schematic or just guess :?: do the 2 alts look anything like the pinouts in those schematics above, when you say they both looked the same were they the same colout wires?

Never been able to understand those wiring diagram things, they just confuse me to much.
