Hi all, does anyone reccomend any particular worshop books for the suzuki escodo 1993? are they much of a muchness? also my new zuk has a 16Ga which is a 16v , is there an 8v version also or are they all 16 v?
im looking at doing some of my own work on this thing as they look a bit easier to work on than most "Trucks" and im sick if paying mechanics when i can prob do some jobs myself.
Anyone know of good suzuki parts places in Christchurch?
suzuki Haynes manual
Re: suzuki Haynes manual
Honestly, these little Suzukis are about as simple as relatively modern cars get. You can do most jobs yourself without a workshop manual, although the .pdf one that is floating around is sometimes useful to see how parts come apart.
For the most part if there is something you need to do most of us on here have done it and will gladly point you in the right direction.

Heres a link to a download of a web site which got taken down last year - http://www.mediafire.com/?k7hib2rqpylpw5c
There is a wealth of how to's and information in there, though you often have to decipher what the hell the guy is talking about.
It has a lot of information on common problems and servicing. Good walkthroughs on timing belt & timing etc
Haynes manuals are wrong in many cases, find what you need amongst the files in the above downloads.
Check out - http://www.suzuki4x4.net/manual/
and http://www.acksfaq.com/
As for parts there is Rex Russell wreckers in bromley, can be quite expensive from experience.
Hollands Suzuki can get OEM parts, almost anything you need but are a ripoff.
Partmaster has managed to find 90% of what I've needed at a fraction of the OEM stuff, apart from specialized parts.
G16a is a vague model number, they can have fuel injected and carbie heads, 8 or 16v

Thanks for info lads. My zuk is quite stock but i might do her up to tackle some deeper ruts. Guna get to know her a bit first.
Re: suzuki Haynes manual
Deeper ruts = bigger tires for diff clearance.
There are a few threads on here about lifting for cheap and what size tires you can fit, look for cheap vitara lift thread
