WTD: In line filter

Post by T-Boon »

What do you guys use for filters when you ditch the factory airbox to run a snorkell in your comp trucks, I dont have a lot of room hence asking.

Its for a 1UZ in a Surf.

a pod filter in an enclosed sealed box hooked up to your snorkel is a pretty secure way of waterproofing the intake if you've got the room

I'm pretty sure petefj40 also did the same setup on his old cruiser but you'll have to wade through the 70-80 pages of his build thread yourself I cant do it on dialup

You can get something called the green filter, comes in its own sealed mounting can, I know a couple of people, that run them, klem in his supercharged 1uz, and Glen on his High boost td42.
they both reckon their pretty good filters

That green filter is the worst site that I have ever been to.

However the K&N one might be exactly what I need.

Id be very cautious with green filters ...any product that claims to save you between 7% & 16% in fuel seems to good to be true to me ....saving that much fuel just isnt that easy.

You can get them ex USA for almost half the price of Trademe, here's a place I get alot of my stuff from.......with some cold intake to boot  with the exchange rate at the moment, you could have one of the $185 intakes, including freight for about $280
