Retrofitting 3YE into 3Y Lux

Post by hunton »

OK, so I have rebuilt the cab, front axle, painted and rust proofed, new seats, tyres, reassembled it and got it back on the road. I found a complete 3YE engine from a 1990 Surf with sensors, ECU, loom, gas tank, fuel line etc. I have looked at the wiring diagrams in the manual I've got but can't match the colour codes.
Can anyone suggest how to sort and match the existing 85 Lux wiring to the 90 Surf loom or should I take it to an auto electrician?
Thanks,
John

Thanks for your advice, I have the Haynes manual 92735, I will have to learn to read wiring diagrams.
Re the colour codes, when a wire is designated B for instance does it mean Black or Blue ? L ?
Cheers
