Nice work.

Re: D21 Navara SAS with falcon rear leaves
Coilover tidy up, made new nylon slider bit (white) and added a wear sleeve (black) as spring wearing ali stop ring thingy. New cadmium plated steel rings are an idea I flogged off a guy whos probably forgotten how to drive as it's been so long
I will update when completed

20l drinking water tank with pump to in cab supply

Spring lockout device for on road travelling. Helps heaps by making truck more stable and not as twitchy. Much better than limiting strap shown, and hopefully will last longer. I was waiting for someone else to finish theirs so I could copy them
, but gave up and designed my own

The eight pieces of 6mm plate was profile cut by Autobend, cost $103
Impressed by quality of finish thou

Re: D21 Navara SAS with falcon rear leaves
One went on real easy, other a wee bit of a juggle, time will tell, maybe just practice, but I suspect they may get harder to fit as the nylon spring spacer/slider wears and the bottom ring gets on the piss
At least it's finished thou

Re: D21 Navara SAS with falcon rear leaves
what spring rates do you run on the front ? and how do they feel on/off road, ?
Re: D21 Navara SAS with falcon rear leaves
I was sick of being the inovator. It means you can run them and if there are any issues I'll copy yours when you have it all sorted
I was still playing with a way to make them quick release/refit, but have have had a lot of other stuff to sort recently

One thing I reckon you do need to do Jeeza is pick up the top of the bottom spring as well, this means that you will only be using the travel available from your higher rate spring for road use. Currently the entire top unit can "bounce" off the top of the lower spring when it has reached maximum stretch.

I hear ya, it dosn't seem to be a problem at this stage, feels very firm, all thou I believe your idea would help, maybe groove the bottom part of nylon slider so the bottom spring clips/screws onto it... or run a limiting strap... or you can just stop picking holes in my idea because I've finished mine.... and I drive it

Pete, I'm running 250lb 12inch long top, and 350lb 12inch long bottom. Very supple off road, a wee bit soft for punching into obsticals, hydralic bump stops would be the biz. Calcs said I needed 375lb, but they didn't have them. It's wollowy (is that a word) as hell on road. Thus the spring lockout clamps. Heavy sway bars (with disconnects of course) would be the answer, but I've no room.

Re: D21 Navara SAS with falcon rear leaves
its very capable and works mint. dont you change her..
limiting straps might be a go for extra captivity on the open road but i think it should drive sweet.. you should do a long distance trip somewhere soon and see how it goes....

Re: D21 Navara SAS with falcon rear leaves
While we were investigating an old overgrown track on foot, the most unusual sound I've heard in the middle of the bush started, clang clunk... clang clunk... clang clunk... a metal on metal sound. We run back to the vehicles to find this

My in cab winch switch was jammed in the back of my seat partially activating it. It finally fried itself and decided to wind the cable up off the hooks, taking a spotlight off in the process, then drag the hook threw the fairleader, bending rollers and the mounting plate, and then clang clunk the hook around.

Re: D21 Navara SAS with falcon rear leaves
Veiw from Big River to Slab Hut Creek

Coming down Slab Hut Creek

Nek Minut, 100 from main road on Slab Hut Creek Track

All 3 occupants walked away, thank f#!k for that, and we came got her next morning. Spent a couple of hours with hi-lift, axe and size 8 boot, taped in a random windscreen, and drove home. New cab needed now

Dwindling light, over grown track, didn't even see bank... crunch crunch

That is why it took me so long to decide that the old truck was total write off. It does really gut ya when you start thinking about ALL the mods you have made to get things to go where/the way you want.
Good luck dude, and if all fails, we'll get together with the crew and get shitfaced (or let's do that anyway

Chassis seems ok at this stage, will check when cab off. Cab will come off in sections for ease, and to enable other tidy ups/improvements to be done. Sort of sick of looking at it to tell the truth. Maybe a working bee/piss up is in order when new cab is ready to lift on

Oh no good, have been following thread too. No doubt you will be back soon. Good luck with the cab swap. Round two is always easier, Glen
SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods

Yeah, left A pillar even worse is it landed on that side. Lucky it was only one roll. Both B pillars bowed out, and rear pillars bent back. Floor is bowed and fire wall and dash bent just beside snorkle. It was more of a fall off bank and land on left A pillar, then bounce onto right A pillar, then roll onto it's boots.
Internal roll cage definatly on the list, integral to the body I'm thinking
