Land Rover Discovery 3 reliability

Post by buzzard »

Hi all. I'm interested in buying a Discovery 3..possibly a Japanese Import. There is some pretty nasty stuff on the internet about the Land Rovers reliability issues and the frequency with which problems occur. I would really appreciate any owner or ex-owners opinions on their reliability.

thanks in advance

Just recently bought one myself. They are extremely nice cars to drive and are very good both on and off road. But as with any car they have their issues. Being a $120000 car they are not very cheap to mend either  .

This is an excellent site - http://www.disco3.co.uk/

Might be a bit of a gamble buying a Jap import. If I was going to buy one I would make sure it was an NZ new one and had a FULL LR dealer service history and you should be ok. Get an extended warranty and that will give you a bit of extra piece of mind.
