history: got tranny serviced and external cooler on last week. filled with BP diesel yesterday (the day the prob started).
drove around town doing errends for about an hour then this happened.
went to start, it didn't, this just does not happen!
tried again and it started and was idling at 950rpm (normal was 800rpm)
put it in gear and it stalled (again this does not happen)
started again, idle high and surging.
this has carried on for the last couple of days. the a/c causes the surging to happen as does putting it into gear. once the load is off it will settle down after a while to the higher idle speed.
does not seem to be a problem when driving ie. no surging, but is a problem at stops and lights!
have checked vacume and vac switches that we could find.
have changed the fuel filter
have cleaned the return fuel filter
have tried bypassing the fuel filter.
all to no avail
any ideas that wont cost thousands to fix
