24th - 25th March

Post by kbushnz »

Well weekend started early...
Got my rims back from the blasters and painted up...
Fitted up the Simex's with one of those cheap tyre installers from Trademe...
They look good.
Test them out next weekend on Woodhill Patrol and then the big test at the Superwinch Easter Endurance!

This weekend I went right out on limb,
not only did I buy new wiper blades for my girlfriend's car, i got the whole wiper heads. Even with my vast mechanical experience, I struggled like feek to fit them
I think I need to watch one of those vids on how to DIY.

Oh, went to Woodhill for the night run. Did some driving, did some winching and changed a flat tire.

Credits;
Thanks to Madmike for the new winch (fast and powerful [compared to my old thrashed one]), and new LED spotties.
Thanks to Hilux Dan for being navi.

Cheers,
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

Spent most of Saturday at Jono's workshop having my sump shaved :?
It had a few to many love taps from the front diff so it got the treatment, sliced about 30mm off. Still holds about 7 liters so should be all good Image

Image

Image

Also fitted some H.I.D"s into the lux, what a differance :D Stopped in at woodhill and did the night run to try them out on the way home. No pics from there, it was way to dark!

But did snap a pic of Jono's new project, in its very early stages :o Image

370mm of diff clearance on 29" bikkies

and snapped these of a club mates nissan being built, It's looking really good (for a Nissan  )

Used a few cutting disks on the lada and llada associated stuff, barwork and the like... ran out so had to stop... need to purchase more cutting discs. Welded in some brackets for the rear hooks/bar

Threw the new feet on for lols, they need to come off so I can trim the guards and finish removing a swag of bodywork (and rust) from the rear. Better update over in the lada thread.

Didnt get up to a huge amount, spent saturday night in bed sick.

Sunday pulled out the rear diff head on the zuk to redo the seal as it was leaking out at an extreme rate... Turns out that finger tight bolts dont seal very well...

On the positive side though, I could rebuild most of my truck with my farkin fingers if i needed too   plenty of spanner swingin to be done...
