Electric Motor Noise - 92 Terrano

Post by The Stranger »

I noticed on Saturday that there is a noise like a small electric motor somewhere about the middle of the dash whenever the key is in the "on" position. Can anyone tell what that is please. it doesn't appear to be the AC/heater fan, that makes way more noise.

Does it have climate control? If so, it could be the little fan that blows air over the temp sensor.
If you break it... build it stronger.

Possibly a small fan to keep all the electric's behind the dashboard cool? I have one mounted just above the factory stereo in my 80 for that reason...they generate a bit of heat, especially in such a confined space....

It did have air con. I wanted more power so that's gone now.
I guess that explains it.
Now to figure out how to cripple that.

Try changing the positions of heat slider, recirculate, demister etc, see if noise changes with that. May even go away if you're lucky :)
