I am being critical now and will know doubt get shoot down but from experience I believe your side bars will give you trouble . Instead of sliding past things they will hook on and dig into things.

nah...you dead right ...they need to be curved to push things away ...how they are will act like a hook.

also after had some seat time gonna send it to toms offroad for some full length guard sliders so will visit runners then to. - i hate bending

I like the width of your bars, but I agree with others (should be rolled in and not square cut).

Just watch that it doesn't do major damage when it does get hooked up John.
They can kink a chassis rail quite easily when they catch.

got a panhard drop bracket made up by tomsoffroad

highly recommend tom for any custom bracket work needed

Where did ya get that stuff mate , I've seen the rubber roll at Para Rubber but that metal strip ? haven't seen anything like that anywhere I've been looking. Want to do something like that on my Wrangler, mainly to stop the masssive amounts of mud covering my softtop at the first mudhole. about how much for all that, if I'm allowed to ask

Hi greg. The strip was from para rubber 6x100mm and I used 4m of it. Price on there website. Alloy strip was from ullrich alloy here in chch cant member size prob 2x20mm and was approx $6 for 5m. S/s rivets were a few bucks

Cheers mate. Yeah it has prob cost me just on $10k now. Have doneall work myself except sas and of course the parts that I couldn't do so that does save money. Yes i am happy but not as happy as I will be once its got cert and am finally using it for what I built it for.

right a update time - although it doesnt seem much there has been alot of adjusting of things and ALOT of the small tidy up things that just seem to take forever to do. and all off this while moving outta 1 house, to my mums for 2 weeks and them into our new home which killed a months worth of weekend time on my truck.

finally sent my washer bottle of to get modded to work around the lines for the powersteering cooler:



fitted up some front led indicators with resistor packs to get the flash ate back to normal. (will get pics)

mounted up ecu behind glove box which means no glovebox for me - bloody big 1uz ecus!!! (will get pics)

took truck for a drive down the street, abit off when i got back - few issues with brakes and trans.

yesterday - so brakes are ratshit been bleed 3 times and still shit. poped front wheels off, pulled pads and hit brake pedal - half the pistons on both front calipers only moved. keep pumping for 5mins and all moved. pulled off calipers to get rebuilt.
next was getting the rotors off. not a quick job at all. wind on wheels nuts, hit with hammer to losen studs, remove fwh both parts (frigen circlip is the longest part of the bloody job - need to get me circlip tool ), remove main hub nut, pull off hub, hit through studs fully, pry the rotor off of the hub, all that x2.

while was at it time to check rear brakes too. off comes wheel on rh side, next the drum, oh look the drum,pads and everything else it covered it brake fluid. squeezed one end of the rubber boots and there was a small pin sized hole. off it comes and repeat x2

so result is
2x front rotors to be machined
2x front calipers to be rebuilt
2x rear piston units to be rebuilt
a set of front pads

will drop them into brake place 2moro

as for the trans issues didnt want to look into it and doing all the brakes so will waiting till brakes are fitted back up

hey, when I had stuffed front rotors, it was only $40 more to get new ones from BNT

Sweet will keep that in mind thanks. Ill get these 1s machined as they look fairly new and dont look like they been machined before. I getting machined cos they have the slightest rust pitting in them from sitting around on my truck for a year and who knows how long the axle sat around before I got it. There is no pad groves in the disk at all so only needs the smallest taken off.

Ah ok, different issue for me, seized front pots had nice Biiiiig grooves

so after spending quite a bit of $ i now have brakes but soft pedal

rebuilt calipers (3 new pistons)
machined rotors
new rear cylinders
new pads
got hand brake working

bleed brakes 3 times

yes the truck stops good now but the brake pedal is still soft and goes almost to the floor with engine running

Um mine did this to and then i bleed the proptioning valve on back diff and it stoped it, give a whirl anyway worth a shot

Just had a read of wut ya done.. very tidy and cool .. just one thing tho.. is now you have the powa.. take it easy on those tahs.. they will wear exceptionally quik with a heavy foot.. they are very soft in the rubber and generally dont last long on a thrash wagon.. Otherwise Mint setup..
