BIGGGG thanks to sausage I had a semi constructive day,

did this.... snorkel on..... all up owes me $100 bucks which was purchasing snorkel
I have diff breathers t into one line then it runs up snorkel with a orignal breather cap on the line to stop water getting in

Image

sad note, went to try some 285 75 r16 on but no dice I need a lift so its either lift or turbo, turbos winning now

had a good look over the safari in the last week and have given it a full birthday. also pulled a few meters of wiring out from under the dash found a couple immobilizer switches too. :D some interesting 'shell be alright' wiring has been done over the years so i removed what i know is useless/redundant and left what I'm not sure about.

plan for tomorrow is to fit the new head deck and 2 new (old) rear door speakers and the prs.

put the rear diff back in the land rover too, will tighten up the bolts tomorrow and then take it for a spin and see the difference between the 2 ratios.
cheers

Made up and added a couple of spacer plates behind lower Alt bracket to giv it a bit more leverage. Plates not shown in this pic with old belt that was to short. wasen't enough room for dizy to twist as it was.

Spent the day helping out track setting/clearing for the Northland Winch challenge. This is going to be a great comp, heaps of VERY challenging tracks and in a very beautiful part of our country.

Getting far to well equainted with my scrub bar. We now have at least 15 tracks cut and planned. With the options of running most in reverse there should be plenty for all. I have only been involved in cutting 6 so have no idea about the ones Al speaks of, but if they are half and long and technical as the others we are set to have a fair few with 1hr DNFs and multiple winches in each.

Oh and Al sorry to hear about the paint damage on your bar    Kids who'd have em (or that one anyway)

You will just have to watch out for falling trees. ( and not the ones Taz hits with those monster spacers)

luckily it doesn't really mater in Woodhill being sand based if its wet it just makes some of the hill climbs a bit easier,,now the clay ones that's a different story  they have a couple of stages with water but its only top of the wheel deep and we've dug drains to keep it at that.i think if i was a Co driver i would be wearing a crash helmet though ,the pine cones bloody hurt when they hit you ,Trust Me i know

Not having my truck stolen.. woke up Saturday morning to find the passenger door open, everything in the glove box everywhere (just surf casting lures haha) a random cell phone and a a flat head screwdriver that matches the now f$$ked ignition. Truck is still here thankfully and the phone and screwdriver are now with the police.

Shot down to Auckland Saturday to pick up another car.
On the way down I pickup up the rear callipers and discs for the bighorn.

As the little one (7weeks) wanted a feed on the way down we didnt end up getting to Auckland until after 1pm so made most of the day go way to fast and ran out of time to get back at a reasonable hour so stayed down the night othwise I would have gone out to help with the track setting. Didnt get back til late yesterday so the bighorn will just have to wait until the weekend to get all up and running again.

I had that happen once, turned out I had put the wrong fluid in after a late night working on the truck and after a few weeks all the rubbers had swelled and the clutch cylinders weren't coming back when I took my foot off the clutch. So before you pull it out just check that the fork is moving haha.

Not my best moment!

Cheers,
Pete
