Leading arms on the 1993 Prado's were weaker ( cross section )than the 1994 onwards arms.

80 series arms are different apparently...

...and yes I can confirm the later arms are thicker. Not sure what year the rear arms we bought were off, but definitely thicker than our original 92 arms.

I think the 80 series arms would work and also solve the castor when used with a lifted truck....
But would need one in my grubby hands to confirm...
However new ones ordered ex Japan... Thanks 1hamish1

Hey calvin, did you give up on this idea or you still waiting on dimensions? FYI the Prado arms (dimension B) are about 10mm longer.

Hi Yah
I ended up getting new prado ones....But still interested....
I have a gut feeling the 80 series ones could solve the problem of caster adjustment....
Would like a pair to compare....

Not sure if this helps or not. The prado one is the longer, straighter one on the bottom.

Thanks for the photo....

Gee they are close.
But I think the rear steering rod wont clear. The prado has a big goose neck in it at the axle end....
Oh well just an idea...

Hey Kelvin, I went all out this weekend and actually rested that 80series radius arm on the end of my radius arm bolts to see what you mean about the goose neck bend. Well it would actually fit in place i think. On my truck there would be about 5-10mm clearance between the rear tie rod. However my tie rod does have a "slight" bend in it. Not sure what would happen when it flexs up. And for me i think the caster adjustment might be too much but will do a bit of a calc to confirm. Check out the photos i tool for ya

Thats interesting...
Thanks for the photo's...
I think the clamp for the tie rod would need moving around but it could be a good fix for a 4 inch plus lift...
And no cutting or bending...
Pity I have already tweaked my axle housing to correct the caster using factory arms...
I am sure other will be interested with what you end up with...

Good work...

Yea it would basically be a straight swap. All you need to do is drill a new set of holes 10mm forward on the chassis mount bracket.
