I need to temporarily limit fuel supply to my Mitsi Challenger 96 2.8 diesel.
Can anyone point me in the direction on how to do this.

Wanting to temporarily reduce black smoke output

Re: Turning Fuel Down on Mitsi Challenger
what sort of pump does it have?
when does it blow smoke? ie full throttle only, part throttle etc.

Re: Turning Fuel Down on Mitsi Challenger
Blows it at full throttle which is normal but wof guy not so happy even though following the guidelines i cant see an issue.
Its a 4m40t 2.8 diesel engine in a challenger.
Apparently there is a air/fuel which can be adjusted to temporarily limit fuel.
Im gonna put in some treatment as well however from reading this sounds a quick fix.

its NOT normal.
if its blowing smoke constantly it will fail WOF. if its a puff of smoke it should be fine and turning down fuel probably will not help much anyway.
it looks like its an EFI pump anyway so there may not be any max fuel screw.
i would check the egr is blocked off. they can stick open and cause black smoke.
otherwise, assuming air filters etc are all ok, i would guess your injectors need reconditioning.

Get your injectors serviced, or have your motor tuned professionally
