So sorry to see Jeremy  , I no what your going through as I have done it not once but twice  . Have you thought about knitting :? , will take up as much time but shouldn't cost as much and unless you slip with the needles you shouldn't get hurt, we could do swaps with patterns and spare wool. Seriously it's not the total answer but if I was to re build a new vehicle I would be looking at a dedicated EXO trailer queen ,

Hi Jeremy,
hope you got my txt last weekend, really good to read that you were all ok after the roll and no injuries etc, not good that it happened but it does sometimes.
I also have had to do a body swap after a roll in my surf, takes time and of course the vin number is also a problem but can be done legally if you involve the VINZ people from start to finish of the body swap.

I'm with Fitzy's comments!

I think (hope) Kelsey's practising building his truck. :D
I havn't found another donor truck yet, havn't really looked but I'm prepared to wait. Signs of rust around where inner guards meet firewall seem, looks good everywhere else. Sills maybe a prob if not flushed. Door window rubbers/seals are an arse, need to keep door drains clear, oh and the ifs is shit  imho

Prepared to wait and get a complete donor truck a this stage, considering I've been offered two in the last 12 months, $1000 for one and $800 for other. Chopped Terrano body has crossed my mind if I get desperate.

While cabs off, I've replaced and lifted a damaged cross member so it's now flush with the chassis, rehashed rear diff torque arm mount, strengthened side bar mounts.

After

... ummm... now... redo exhaust... make and fit battery box underdeck for both batterys... strengthen rear bar stays.. straighten rear bar... oh,and of course, look for a cab

Lucky noone got hurt mate, bugger to see the old girl damaged love the look of it.

A terrano cab like someone said will be a bit short, i looked at putting a navara cab on my terrano and it was a foot or two too long.

Good luck with the rebuild

Yeah, I think cutting the front of my chassis off and stitching it onto a terrano would be the easiest option. I don't want to go down that track thou.

Right, time to rearrange tyres and rims. Iv'e been running MT-117 Silverstone 35/10.5-16 on 8inch rims. I've been happy with there performance offroad, but being a soft rubber, they wear too fast for my liking onroad. I have to clean beads often due to mud and wood in them. I'm thinking of trying the Jungle Trekker 2 34/11.5-15 (Twin Block) on some 7inch rims for three reasons.
1) Simex is a harder rubber and will wear better on road
2)1inch wider tyre and 1inch narrower rim will help keep crap out of bead, although 4WDbits site recommends 8-10inch rim for this tyre
3)I believe they will be a better "all rounder for me"

Question, do I stay with an 8inch rim as recommended, or go 7inch?

My 35x11.5x16 simex were on 8" rims and never popped a bead but still got sticks and dirt stuck in the bead, I would run them on 7" rims if it were me. :D
