Tyres in Chch

Post by loryda »

Hi Guys

Finally getting another 4wd and flying to Chch this saturday to hopefully take home a 1uz hilux. Thing is its got 33s and no spare and im a little wary of driving it back to Aucks without one.

Never spending any time down those ways in any state to remember things does anyone have recommendations where i can get a tyre and rim from on a Saturday arvo?

Its got Black Speedy 15x8's & Hankook RT03 33's on it at the moment

Any help greatly appreciated!
Cheers
Alex.

Rick might also have an old 33" for not much, you'll need to T it up now though as he leaves for a comp on Friday morning....

I can do you a worn 33 for a spare (old wild country job) if you can find a rim. Any rim will do as the height is all you are interested in.
Ugly is a state of mind..... and the state of my truck!

I've got a plan........ I'll pick it up from Chch for you and take it back to the workshop. You can then pick it up from mine in two weeks time with the Sas (which it so clearly needs  ) done and then drive it home

rokhound - Cheers for the offer mate, might take you up on that if i cant find a combo (only cos otherwise id need to find a rim, get it fitted and still make it to picton before 9). Flick me your mobile?

Anyone know any shops open in Chch on a Sat arvo that would have a 33' tyre and or rim? or in Wellington on a Sunday?

tomsoffroad - Ohhh how i wish my funds would stretch to that point! Out of curiosity. how much would a sas conversion dent the wallet? ballpark..?

KIWI_TERRANO - They are also on the wish list at this point!

Bout 5g with 4x new coils, 4x new shocks, drop bracket for rear panhard and cert. You supply the diff with radius arms and Prado steering box. 10 day turn around

Ive got an old 33" tyre but its on a brand new white spoke or I Ive got a white spoke rim that would fit Roks tyre, can fit the tyre for you too if needed. :D
Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, front and rear lockers, 35" simex.
Toyota FJ45 build in progress.
Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set.
