works for me, come on down... lada day to piss off my neighbors lol

if you can weld/shape steel/bring some steel with ya that would be grand! haha

On the topic of your sliders... I'm wondering if you could weld some angle/ "U" shaped square (if that makes sense?) the full length of "chassis" even angle both sides to mount the sliders off...

I should go MS paint some ideas/will wait till I can see what the chassis/sills actually look like... my brain is putty today :/

so there ya go accepting all ideas. I would like to try keep the sills as they are, Im not really gona be bouncing off rocks all day everyday. I dont want to loose to much ground clearence if possible. just want it to add a bit of protection for sills and be strong enough to use a highlift jack on.

Cheers all

Well Im thinking that Nibby's idea is the best  (dont tell Nibby, his head will get all inflated like  )

But....... All good boxing in the sills, but how strong are the "chassis" rails? Are they going to bend on a rock :?: :?:

A "For Sale" sign on the back would fix it    .

As Nibz and Tom and others said, it looks like you will need to section some box section or folded plate into the sills.

hi saddam can you remember the size and wall thickness of the pipes as in

inadequate is .......
adequate is..........

how strong to make such things but not throwing too much weight in is always a hard call so most of us tend to make things overkill and the downside is extra weight. mine are not so much for rocksliders but a ladder for the missus but still got to make strong enough to take a beating. bit late to try and protect panels. not a straight panel left, actually most are absolutely mangled

Hi Clive. Come and have a chat. If you don't want it to bend 40mm NB medium pipe. 3.2mm wall thickness,3.6kg/m.

yep probably will thats why im not to keen on alot of rock hopping
Will also be making up a bash plate for TC once I get thees sliders done.

I doo have one more Idea to run past yas before I bite the bullet and go the obber beef sills. It involves utilising the jack points as origionaly wanted to but adding in extra suport by using rear lower arm mount and part of chassy up front. I will mock something up during next week to shows yas what I mean...... and youll propably tell me monique says im dum.  but its wort a try cos then sills wont be modded and itll be able to be unbolted for what ever reason.....

my concern is if you bolt/weld on solid steel to you monocock panel steel you are going to transfer impact with added leverage to the floor pan or what ever in a small area and crush/bend/fk it. i would simply put 3 mm angle over the sill which will spread force over a wide area and hopefor the best.

Go for a skid down the river, bash it up, find out where u need the protection, cut out newly dented sills, weld in box section....
Pannel steel to 3mm box section = tig in or lots of spots mig.
