2001 Grand Cherokees would be 5 on 5" (or 5 on 127mm for metrics, but Jeeps aren't metric - really).

Now where the difference is in the trims. Limiteds and Overlands had 17 x 7.5" rims from factory. Laredos had 16 x 7" rims.

One thing to note on a 2001, from 1999 model production through May 10, 2002 used Teves calipers, black color with open-sided bracket. These are prone to rotor warpage as its not a good design. Later years had Akebono calipers, which is what you want. Some of the original Teves were replaced to later Akebono calipers through Jeep initiative/repairs. Just keep an eye on it.

My wife drives a 2003 Grand Limited. So I know a little bit about them from the last 4 years. Ours is a 4.7l V8, not the diesel.

Forgot, the offset is 50.8mm from factory.

If you do decide to go down the WJ/WG route, keep this website in your reference material: http://www.wjjeeps.com

Just did some reading on another site. You will struggle to fit 33" tyres on it unless you go 6" lift. The problem is the way wheelwells are shaped. Factory tyres on a Limited are P235/65R17, which means 29.5" - with a 4" lift 31/32" might be doable.

Our WG is factory standard, and it will remain that way. Far too much money and time needed to mod two Jeeps.

33s only fit with 4" lift if you cut the sh!t out of it AND proper offset rims. but you can put 2" spacers(200 bucks+couple of hours) on the coils and you got the 6" lift.

at this stage i only got the 2" BBs on 2002 limited with 31s on factory 17" rims and because of the crap offset tires rub a little on the shocks and the frame.

with any lift/bigger tires you wanna change front driveshaft to the u-joint style: http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merchant ... y_Code=WDT
the slip yoke version isn’t the strongest - just shattered mine on the weekend

worth considering long arm kit as well, 4"+ shorties ride like a pig they say

go with quadra-trac version with the V8 if you don't mind buying up Gull :D

being ex usa make sure it isn't in miles

might wanna think about an engine rebuild(unless it's already done), check diffs, axles for any noise.

I think ex USA might be the lift kit. Nobody will do a RHD conversion for that price. Need more photos but 270k kms are not too much for the V8 if maintained well with quality parts. It will need a thorough check though. What has been done to the rest of drive line.

Why is it being sold. Also those 16 rims are from a Laredo not Limited.

Great, I am on the look out for new wheels and tyres as well. My 265/75R16 BFGs are down to 40% tread, time to replace.

Great. Fun starts now. Some of the sites I frequently use:

- www.quadratec.com (for all sorts of things)
- www.summitracing.com (for just about everything)
- www.rockauto.com (even maintenance items are cheaper, with freight)
- www.otrattw.com (for switches)
- www.rokmen.com (for controls arms, armour, etc)

All great experiences.

Are you sure? What are the symptoms. Limiteds have dual zone HVAC. If one side is blow cold air and the other side blowing hot or no air, chances are your blendoors are out of action. You can check what the codes are.

1) Turn on the vehicle.
2) Turn on the AC system to any setting.
3) Hold down the AC and the Recirculation buttons at the same time.
4) While still holding the AC and Recirculation button, turn the passenger side temperature control knob clockwise one click.
5) Release the AC and Re-Circulation buttons.

The code numbers will be displayed on the screen one at a time.

Report what the codes show up. If they are 22, 24, 54 or 56 then its the blendoors. Easy to fix.

On ours, eventually both blendoors had failed and no air would come out of the vents. I also thought the blower was blown, but the codes showed it was the blendoors. I fixed them first and the motor failure codes went away.

When the doors fail, they fall in a position (due to gravity) that stops flow of air from the top almost completely.
