Mtr rebuild

Post by Nailnuts »

Hi to everyone, this my first posting here

I have a 86 tintop short wheelbase LJ71.
I have spent the best part of the last 3 months stripping down and repairing/welding the chassis and coach work.
New paint underneath and on coach work, it has been a massive job ( for me anyway)
I have stripped the motor down and after having to get another block (long story) i am picking the head and block up from the machine shop re-bored.
I have new pistons bearings ect.
Its a 2l-t mech injection... some would say a boat anchor, but i wanted to keep it standard.
My questions are, is there anything I can do to this motor to make it any stronger, anyone offer any good tips for assembly, is there any benefit in rigging an intercooler and boosting the ct20 slightly.
And last one.. this is my first diesel rebuild how do you go about tuning these engines ?

Any comments would be welcomed

bestway to make a 2lt stronger is wrap 20mm log skid wire around the engine (this will dampen the shell shock when the ole girl blows),for timming your 2l you will have to recalibrate your inj pump to suit your inj flow rate, and NO your petrol internal combuston engine timming light will not help you at all !!!ikzs anh 1hds are the best deisels out for 4wd following the one and only series /60 ddc detriot (thats what gets my logs up the line in my (kt104)any you japies understand?????
