Convert LJ78 Prado electric Hubs. manual hubs and wheel hubs wanted.
Guessing you can use cruiser or hilux parts. want to do it without the dodgy spacer, so want the wheel bearing housing as well.

Cheers guys.
Micah.

The electric hubs are strong mechanically... just the electric operation lets them down.
If I had my time again I would get mine modded like / with Oldblue's.......
I scored a set of manual hubs and wheel hubs from either a 60 series or an earlier 70 series.....cant remember now...
Then swapped my discs over and put in new wheel bearings.
I kept my std stub axles but machined down the wheel nut to get it to fit up...
That kept the locking of the wheel nut std instead of those two thin nuts and lock tabs.....fiddly things...
Never had any problems and that was 8 years ago....

Ive been running std free wheel aisan hubs for coming up to ten years now

ive been carring a spare hub for all that time and never needed it until just this weekend where a mate blow his older style hylux free wheel hub and i dug my spare out of the bottom of my tool box

Ive shat a lots of Oe cvs over that time and my hubs are still running mint

guess its horses for courses but SB chevy and front locker will always find a weak link some where
i can say with hand on heart that its not my set of hubs anyway

ps stay away from tarain tamer as they are a mongrel to get off with the stupid little allan head screws that they are designed with

I did the same thing as kbushnz but didnt have access to a lathe so just used the fiddly standard lock nuts and tabs. Had to muck around with the washer a bit to get them to lock up nice. I think I picked up some Ln65? hubs for about $80 for the pair and Toyota locking nuts for $12 a side.
