Post by skid »

who can make it into RW for track clearing before Kiwi :?:

basically need lots of hands and lots of hands attached to loppers

theres far too many vines in the way in the new tracks we've just created and they need to be cleared

confirmed date for this is 12/13th May

I've got the big push on to get all the shit bolted back onto my flatdeck and get it out of Sig's shed in the next week or two coz I think someones pretty keen to get there prado in there for an overdue LS1 conversion :D I should be better placed for the last couple of weeks leading up to the Kiwi 4x4 challenge to help with the final clean up and setup etc, not sure if I'm entered in a team yet will have to see what cruiser club trucks are available and entering at the next meeting?

Re: Big Rallywoods Track clearing mission 5/6th May

Post by skid »

have changed the title to reflect the date planned

a small group of us did a fair bit more today until mis-fortune took over :(

does anybody have a bloody grunty chainsaw with a ripping chain
after todays effort I believe we need the proper gear to finish our wee project as the gear we were using wasn't quite up to the task and decided to bite back

I wont be able to make it up to RW until after work on the saturday and Reece could possibly be out of action for a little bit, so may have to pass on the track clearing information to somebody else

If you fit rated hooks to the wheelchair you can just winch him up and down the track

So I asked my good friend Andrew (who used to work for treescape)very nicely and he said he would come up and cut down/clear some trees off the tracks,

He even offered some free chainsaw safety advise
