89 pajero auto 4wd not working

bought a 89 lwb pajero, no 4wd at the mo.

was told it will be a perished air hose, does anyone know which hose im looking for?

Shouldn't be anything air related.... Up until 1991 they had auto hubs from factory. Thats where I would start looking.

Put it in 4WD and climb underneath and see if you can turn the front driveshaft by hand (from gearbox to front diff)

nope cant turn the driveshaft. it seems that it occaionally clicks into 4wd... hubs? i have a set of l200 hubs, they look the same, may switch them over and see if it works?
