Tubes??? Whats with that....

Hiya guys, I've acquired a set of 15" tractor tyres to wack onto some spare rims I have for the Vitara to get into some muddy bits in the farms.
But the tyres say they are 'tube' type.
I had a look on TM - but the sizes are crazy - I don't understand them.

So a couple of questions please - how do I know what size tubes to get, and where can I get them for less than $40-50 which seems excessive to me.

you can run those tractor tyres tubeless if you desire

its entirely up to you

the stamping on the tyre sidewall is purely for safety reasons and probably OSH reasons etc etc

oh, thats interesting - might get them fitted up and see how they go without the tubes.

'tubeless' tyres can be run with tubes.
'tube-type' tyres need tubes (will slowly go flat without as don't have the butyl {air proof} lining).
Or you could probably just pump them up a bit more often.
In regard to tube sizing- get the same diameter as your rims, then make sure the tube is large enough for big tractor tyres (a 15" car tube won't expand enough for a 15" mud tyre for example)
Also the valve sizing- TR13 is standard car/4x4 size. TR15 is bigger (and more common to bigger size tubes).
Tractor tubes usually have a 2 piece design (TR218), so piece holding valve can be removed for quick deflate.
My understanding anyways.

Not sure on size - other than them being 15" and rather narrow - real pizza cutters.

I've found a tyre guy who also 4x4's so I'm sorted - hes even sourced me some rims for a box of beer. Can't wait to see how they go.
Ended up using tubes.
