They're not rare over here in Queensland. Never paid much attention to the leaf ones, are they stronger or something?

different swivel hubs steering is in the front of the diff - like MQ's but have correct camber caster

Hi Jim

This is not a criticism of what you are trying to do and I don't know the differences between the diffs you are talking about but if they are hard to get, is it not possible to just to cut around the swivels, take them out and rotate them to give you the correct caster because they are only a spigot fit with a weld to secure them .That is what I did to the cruiser diff in the hilux.

Cheers Richard

Hi Jim

Have you asked Nigel down the road from you at All Parts because he has wrecked lots of Nissans in the past so may know where one is.

Not really sure what wankers been feeding you shit Jim, but the caster/camber is set by the swivel ball that is welded into the housing, and not by the knuckle. MQ/K ones would have done you fine.

well i have been feeding shit to myself turoa - but thanks for your interest
mk/mq have different camber from gq within the swivel hub !also, to run them on a gq ball end you need to use offset bearing shells or adjustable kingpin caps caster i can fully adjust anyway  , gq ute swivel hubs also have a heavier draglink mounting on swivel hub, 8) there is also no need to modify caliper mounts as mq are different to gq they need to be ground down approx 6 mm or use mq caliper slippers , but i have 2 pot gq tbi calipers and larger tbi discs so that wont work
well i think that covers it for now

Mk front diffs are completely different to GQ ones - they aren't as wide, have different gear ratio's, a smaller salibury style pumpkin and the axles are smaller with a lesser spline count.

The Panhard rod I have on the hilux is also off a Nissan that is extra heavy duty. The walls are around 10mm thick compared to 4mm on a normal Nissan so thay do vary alot between different models.

From the outside they look the same so the only way to tell the difference is to weigh them
