Lifted, 33s, Terrano

Post by D1rtysurf »

Hi all,

I'm looking at buying a 1991 Terrano on saturday. It's a VG30, Auto, with a snorkel, 70mm body lift and suspension lift, manual hubs, 33s and whitespokes.

I've got a few questions to ask. First being does the newer interior (out of the 1995 ish Terranos) fit into these? I mainly want the Dashboard as I like the newer shaped dash.

Second question, what sort of fuel economy can I be expecting out of it?

Anything else I should look for apart from rust around rear seat mounts?

Cheers

I do not think the newer dash's, I assume you mean the round dash, as they are off the "wide body" models.
Check it has been certified for the body and suspension lifts and any other modifications done to it.
Ok people, move along. Nothing to see here. Thank you, move along.

A few years ago myself and a mate both had VG30 manual Terranos and to be honest don't expect to get too many k's from a tank. I was getting about 350-450k depending on how I drove it and that was on 30/9.5/15 all terrains. I'd hate to know what it would be like on 33's...
My one overheated and cracked a head.
Personally I would (and have) go for one with TD27. 2.5" exhaust and it goes like a cut cat while still being economical!

My 2c anyway

Fair call. Easier and probably cheaper than starting from scratch. Sounds like it's well set up that's for sure! Might have to have deep pockets for the fuel bill is all  . Enjoy it!

We did a trip to Jacksons near Otira in the 2 VG30 Terranos and they both used nearly 1/2 tank to just get there! A small amount of wheeling (until mine blew up with cracked head.. so it stayed at the jacksons pub for a few months  ), then back in my mates one... used a full tank and did approx 350k. But that's with a fair amount of hill work of course. It should be alright from Ash to Goon being all flat if you nurse it.
