New spotlight Opinion

Post by mbw »

Hi

I'm in the market for a new pair of Spotlights, but not sure what to get.

The options I was looking at was between the Hella 4000 or some cheap HID off trademe. like these http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =475992007

I'm guessing that the Hella will be better quality, but would the HID's be brighter?

Or has anybody have any other options for about $400 a pair?

Your thought please.

Only been as far as halogens and HIDs havent tried any of those LED ones yet but I'm definately sold on those HIDs so far, I've got 2 sets of 11 inch hella 4000's, one sets hallogen and the other set was a factory HID set but someone had converted them to hallogen (dunno why? ) so I stuck a chinese 100 dollar HID kit back in them and there awesome, ones a spread and the others a pencil beam, bloody awesome in the bush its like driving in daylight but you do lack the wide angle spread with only two lights, you can see why comp trucks stick as many on as they can :P

edit*
probably worth googling a bit about water ingress before you comit to buying anything, havent had any problems yet but I found a bit of stuff about problems keeping water out of the hella ones a while back :x
