Hi all,
Just recently purchased a 1990 Nissan Safari SWB TD42 (Non turbo).
I've just noticed on the front passenger floor seems very damp and it has an oily smell. Any ideas what this could be?
I'm thinking heater coil?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers.

Re: Oily Wet Passenger Floor
If it has a sunroof does its drain have a an internal pipe run? If so maybe it is blocked or perished?
Re: Oily Wet Passenger Floor
No sunroof.
Seems to have dried up now and have been using the heater a bit in the mornings.
Is it common to get a leak through the windscreen seals and down the air vents? (That is my next guess since it's dried up, doesn't explain the oily smell though).

Re: Oily Wet Passenger Floor
Yup could be it..mine used to do the same, windscreen seal was forked and would run thru that corner and down behind/on the aircon unit under glovebox, would often have damp carpet in this corner. Couldnt afford a new seal so just went nuts with a tube of windscreen sealant
