Post by ski »

I have a 24volt 70 cruiser. I am looking at a 12volt portable compressor, don,t want to buy a24volt compressor as I may sell truck later.Question what do I have to do to run a 12v compressor straight off the battery ?. Compressor draws 50 amps under load.

get a 24 to 12 v reducer drawing off one side at those amps will not be good for the battery

Hi

at 50 amps you will struggle to find a 24v to 12v reducer.....
It is not good to just hook it up to 1 battery. the draw off just one battery will eventually stuff one or both batterys as the charger tries to charge things..

You need to buy a battery equaliser and then just hook it across one battery.
