The kit is Mopar designed and to be available from the dealer..... I wonder what the price tag would be though.

I'm definitely warming to the JK - a lot. So much so I spoke to the dealer in Lower Hutt about a demo in a Pentastar version with a view to having one as a DD in a few months, that could then serve duty as my wife's horse float puller after I've used it for a while, and in 4 or 5 years can be built to replace my TJ as a toy.

Unfortunately useless and unhelpful doesn't really cover it. Not wilfully unhelpful, but completely unable to help beyond "I've got a 2007 3.8 Unlimited you can come and drive". How's that a solution when I already told him I'm interested in a new 3.6 Rubicon?

Anyway, black with a Hemi sounds awesome. A dealer kit is a good start, but realistically it makes the whole proposition something that only money no object customers can consider - you have to buy an awful lot of JK that you aren't going to use when the kit is in.

A Hemi model you can order would be fantastic. Not that I'm that customer either, probably even that would be out of my price range and I need my DD to be half way sensible on fuel, but then there is a realistic chance they'd eventually hit the used market, and the TJs aren't going to last for ever...

AEV also do a Hemi upgrade kit as well.

Not sure on the price of the Mopar kit, but if it's consistent with the pricing of all of their other parts it won't be easy at all.

@ Fen - You could give Armstrong in town a call, I think they have a Pentastar model on the floor they'd prob let you try? The Lower Hutt dealership did the same to me when I asked about a newer model JK and all they came back with was the '07 and thats it...

Is Armstrong still a dealer? I'm not that far into town very often and for some reason I thought they only did part these days. I'll have to check it out - thanks for the heads up.
