Tyre Rim Width Opinion
We have some 35x12.5R15 BFG MT's for a second set of tyres which will be mostly be used for on road and soft offroad trips, what are peoples opinion on rim width? We had them on 9.5" beadlocks which were good. Do they need to go on 10" to stop them rolling too much or are 8" fine?
Re: Tyre Rim Width Opinion
I'd run them on 8". Always prefer to use smaller than specified width.
Dont follow me. i'll get stuck and need a tow..
Re: Tyre Rim Width Opinion
for road and soft roading like you say i would go 10 inch rims
i found 8 inch rims great for getting the sidewalls bagging when running real soft pressures but a bit shit on the road with 'rolling' feel & uneven tyre wear
wider rim will give you a better ride on road
my 2c
weemsy

Its better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
Re: Tyre Rim Width Opinion
Wider rims will give much more stability on road, especially if towing.

I would assume that as you have stated it is a road vehicle and that it would need to be certed for using 35" rubber that the cert man would want you to have the right size rim for the tyre being used (ie 15x10).

Cert man was happy with my 15x12.5's being on 15x8's both times
