So installed the guages, made an alloy facia (spelling?) plate that attaches to dash,
then cover sits over the top of gauges and makes it look tidy.
forgot to take pics mid way through, so just the finished product pics for this.
Also took it for its first drive round the block and up the road.
Have no tps on car, but seemed to drive and shift fine,
i havnt manualized it yet. is it normal to drive normal without tps?
or am i somehow doing the tranny damage?! :?
Also, need to sort out my boost, egts sky rocketed up to 750 with my foot up it.
but then my boost just kept climbing too!
i saw 25psi at one point! didnt do that again,
so need to figure out why its so high. i have put a manual boost controller on,
but havnt adjsted it yet, and according to them,
its preset at a low boost setting. Hmmm.
put in a 71 degree thermostat aswell.
didnt get over 80degrees c the whole time, but want much of a test.
But shit it goes well!!! :D :D big smiles! very happy!

Well, small update, as haven't done much since the Mrs has been in the horsepiddle. pregnancy is complicated enough as it is, let alone having one of her kidneys start failing on her. home now, but not able to do much. its almost 3 times as big as it should be.
anyway....
The truck.
fitted new rear springs. its now higher in the arse than in the front. yay, no more saggy arse. (wish it was that easy for all my rides!!!) need to put in the bigger shocks too.(the current fronts.) but cant do that till i put in the new front springs and shocks. and finished up my temporary exhaust.(the one ill have till i have enough moolah to make a nice one.
its made of standard pipe cut to bits and welded back up. aint all that pretty, and illegal but it works well. need to adjust lf wheel bearing at some stage.
Seem to remember these leccy hubs not being that nice to take off. havnt done one in more than a few years now. pics for the pic hoes.

My lovely exhaust.

Cool looking truck.
Have just sold my swb safari and am in the process of buying a prado and doing similar work.
Only problem is I'm not exactly "mechanically" minded.
Now my questions is regarding the lift.
What was needed to get it the high?? Just springs and shocks?? Or do you also need some drop boxes to help lower the angles on drivetrain??
So ifs that 4in lift does that require a cert???

Ok so not exactly the answer you are looking for but we run some 35x11.5R15 Silverstones on a 1987 Toyota Bundera with a 2" Suspension Lift and 2" Body Lift, Just wait till you hit the tracks, they will just about take you anywhere! The only thing is on severe flex in the back, they will rub a tiny bit.

My 2c

I have a set of 3 inch lift springs for a prado if you were interested.

yeah it does require a cert. and just springs and shocks will lift it. but panhard and steering arms need to be lengthend/dropped to match lift too. also front castor needs adjusting.
No drop boxes needed for drivetrain though.
your local 4wd shop should be able to tackle all of the above. but it costs as with all things.
