I think the voting thing on the site is failing.
This isn't the first poll to show no results.

At work we have 7 trucks in daily use, we do predominantly grass/farm track work, sharp rock to sticky clay and everything in between, from flats to steep hill. We have tried Maxxis Buckshots, Bighorns, Trepadors, Dunlop Mt2, Khumo kl 71s, Hankook rto2s and ling long(radial copy of sat with 10ply sidewall)
The dunlops wear to fast but grip very well,
-khumos went lumpy and were replaced under waranty, both sets seemed prone to side wall damadge.
-Hankooks are hard wearring but dont have best traction due to tight lug spacings.
-Ling long were just plain crap 10,000km and were slicks and had been getting slow leaks for last couple of thou kms.
-Maxxis Buckshots or Bighorns (old design) seem to be about the best compromiseof grip wear and puctures
-Maxxis trepadors were fitted to a lighter weight truck(suzuki flat deck) they seem to be going well but dont clear the best due to the truck not having a heap of power to spin them up.
These tyres were all fitted to flat deck farm trucks (hilux, cruiser, Triton, dmax and a suzuki)

X7 For the Nankang 889's. In fact, I've now had 3 sets of these over the last 10 years or so, and never worn any out. I drive it to work every day, not far though, and up north and down south semi-regularly. Last well, and grip not too bad on or off road. A bit of noise...but it's a 4WD right?

I have a tendancy to rip tyres open so dont got for anything too expensive, the old man has a set of fire stone MT's but there not destinations, they have blue side wall writing and are nothing like the one's in your poll, I have bridgestone desert duelers I find the sufficent in mud if you keep them spinning they dont clog up the tread...also have there cheaper knock off ling long copy's for spares and up the mountain as there soft compound makes for good traction in that environment..

How light? suzuki samuri light or SWB pajero light?

if its the first go with the nankang with big block lugs and slightly narrower as it wont sink but will bite well, something heaver will need a slightly wider tread to help disperse the wieght a little more

Nankang, the kumhos need too much tyre speed to spin the mud out

However, I do believe you should get these instead: http://www.4wdbits.co.nz/ProductDetails ... uctID=3939

Or buy them for me and keep my muds that you have atm

KL71's are crap in the mud like above you need to spin the wheels to clear them other wise they are biscuit's, they are good on road and beach tyres.

Cheers.

Can only speak from limited exp but like the buckshot's on suzy, tread is similar to half a doz out there, then it comes down to grip wear an price. Nankangs seem to have a gd name for a budget tyre but lookin around they dont seem that cheap anymore, an when u compare they are smaller and narrower than a comparitive "31" for example. Keen as on the bighorns when mine wear down.
