Anyone have a dead gearbox ?

Post by kernels »

Hi guys,

I'm after a spare drain plug after wrecking the one on my gearbox getting it out. Anyone have a spare for sale ?

Thanks

Hey man, I've got a couple of spare Toyota ones here. I just need to check if they'll fit over the weekend.

Rockstar, thanks mate, hopefully they will be similar. The Suzuki ones are a taper fit, roughly 20mm diameter with 1.75mm thread pitch.

Are they metric? Sounds like the same dimensions as a 3/4 BSP plug.
Cheers,
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

Cheers,

I will dig one out of my plumbing box tomorrow and have a look, pretty sure the thread is metric though.

Cheers

Hey Kernels,

I've got a dead box if you don't find anything in your plumbing stuff - flick me a PM and its yours.

Hey man, the plug is a different style to the diff drain plug. It has a hex head where the drain plug has a 1/2" socket square drive in the end of it. It should still work if you want it. PM me if you're keen.

Thanks mate, I seemed to have salvaged my original ones, they are a little bit munted, but I shouldn't be changing the oil again in the next 100km hopefully.
