Or this thread too. Second link worked best for me.

I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!
Re: Nathans d21 Terrano
So heres the arvos achievements;
Old steering setup Vs modified 2wd setup

Removal of old system. Found a crack developing at bodymount (circled in red). Can see my simple idler brace too.

Easiest way to fit is to drop idler as new tierod sits right under chassis rail.

At steering straight ahead, max down travel, still heaps of angle left inside tierod outer joint

Full lock, max downtravel, not much clearance between swaybar and tierod adjuster (not just photo angle making it look close)

Yet to align ( only did very quick eyelinement as it started raining) and test drive. Will report back,
Nathan

Re: Nathans d21 Terrano
Nice work Nath
I see your upper control arm bushes are nearly totally flogged out. They can alter alignment something fierce.
Have a look at my latest pics and see the space between the control arm and the washer on the pivot shaft.

Nolathane work ok here, but they need to be pressed in.
Looking good. Shame you need sway bar for WOF, they are so over rated
Cheers,

Just squeeze 'em in with a vice, they go in easy as.

Cheers,
Are you sure? I'll check the book when I go back to work, but I'm pretty sure you can ditch 'em. We used to remove rear cefiro one's to get them through vinz when the bushes were shot all the time.
Re: Nathans d21 Terrano
Yea. Check page 9-1-3.
Many A31's don't have rear swaybars, so to not have one there wouldn't be noticed. All terrano have swaybar, so would be noticed to be missing. Mind you, if was removed and it had got dirty and didn't look like one had just been removed.... Well, depends how good your WOF inspector is....
13. Any other suspension component:
a) is insecure or missing, or

Yeah, I thought about using a vice, but as the pivot shaft needs to be installed as the bushes are fitted, I couldn't find a vice with a big enough jaw span

Re: Nathans d21 Terrano
I can't remember the exact method, but I did My mates ones at home without a press in about an hour, so it can't be real hard.

They're now on my 'to do list'...
Along with far too many others....
Did get a boost gauge fitted, found it running 9.5-10psi.
That's stock, with snorkel & mufflers removed (resonator fitted) from stock 2" exhaust. Have now fitted bleed valve to increase boost and get a bit more power. No photos as I have done this rangi-az for now. (think boost guage inso-taped to hi-lo lever

4x2 steering is much improved over worn-out factory setup

If it's better road manner than renewed 4x4 setup I don't know, but plan is that these will take abuse better than 4x4 design

Re: Nathans d21 Terrano
I went for a big drive (first more than just to work-n-back) yesterday, and noticed huge bump steer. Handled really quite bad. A tight bend (one you'd slow to 80 for) with a bump in it really shook my confidence as to weather I was going to make it round. Not so bad without traffic, but when theres a truck in the other lane another story!!
Maybe wheel alignment isn't right?
Will be getting a proper wheel alignment done before taking it out again...
Hopefully thats all thats wrong, else I think I'll be going back to oe setup.
(and swap to this setup for any gnarly 4x4n trips).
On another note, the boost up was great. Could only just get EGT above 600deg. And that was full throttle, 5th gear for a couple minutes (climbing spooners).
I noticed how slow it feels compared to my rd28turbo laurel too
Time to start winding the pump up!!
