Hi guys i bought some surf brake calipers off trademe to replace the seized one i got on my surf and when they turned up they were the wrong ones! I needed one for a VZN130 series surf but they wouldnt quite fit over the disk rotors so assume they must fit an earlier model surf ( still 4 pot calipers though)
Anyway I paid $115 for both looking for around $50 just to get rid of them or swap for a 32X11.5R15 tyre suitable for a spare for my new set if anyones interested either reply on this post pm me or text / call 027 4602 386

they definitley would need a bit more than a sand to get them to fit!! Im guessing they must be off a Y series truck maybe? they look like they are in real good nick which is a pain otherwise i would have two good spares! Even tried reconditioning my old caliper but just couldnt get the two siezed pistons out to rehone the insides.
Finally got all the cv boots changed, and the new brake caliper on, have had the new shocks in the rear for a bit now and got her cleaned up and started for the first time in a month yesterday! Just need to bleed the brakes out now so thats probabally an after work job this week. Then just need to test and make sure the wheel bearings arent to tight etc then go get her muddy!

hey what you're loolking for will be the same calipers as a KZN130, they run a 25mm ventilated disc whereas the calipers you've got will be off a 20mm ventilated disc found on ln130's (2.4 surfs) and ln106 (2.8 hilux's) etc.
cheers marc

hey take the caliper off aand fit a grease gun to where you're brakeline goes in and pump the caliper full of grease. it acts like a hydraulic ram and should force you're pistons out. done this afew times works grat but means cleaning takes a bit longer.

cheers mate might give that a go as it would be great to have a spare one incase this scenario happens again!! Reckon now that i know how to change the cv's i will try and accumulate some spare cv joints and boots to carry with me when im out on the trail in case i manage to break one. Its a relatively easy job know i figured out what to do the second side only took about 40 mins! Might have to look at a locker for that front diff too so i can strengthen that and only blow cvs as they are a bit cheaper to replace!!
Thanks for clarifying the model trucks the other calipers must fit - any takers make an offer!!
