Hilux petrol 2.2l 4y radiator fan wanted
Mate of mine after a std radiator fan for his 89 ute. Anyone help? He's in Whangarei. Cheers

Cool. You reckon they'll fit the 4y?

I don't know, send me measurements, bolts spacings etc and I will check if you like

No worries, You after the fan hub as well or just the fan itself

I think just the fan. He cut his one down smaller and ran electric as well, but has decided to go back original.

Do you have a spare viscous hub? Mine is solid mount and i'm sure it doesnt help what little power and fuel economy we do have

Not sure, If Mud Camper only needs the fan, you can have the hub assembly.. I'll let you know

Hey Smurf. Talked to my mate - he's convinced the 3 and 4 Y have different fans, so thanks anyway. Sounds like 3VILC is keen though, so will let him dive in.
If anyone has a 4y fan, mate's still keen!

I wouldve thought they would be compatible if not identical. virtually everything except the block is the same even the heads can be swapped. Unless like mine there is a difference between the viscous and solid centers

I would have thought the same also. But I haven't got anything to check my one against. Their loss?
Do you still want the fan or hub?
Re: Hilux petrol 2.2l 4y radiator fan wanted
How much you want for it? Possibly the fan for the viscous hub may be different size center to the solid one.
edit; at a rough guess (not much room to measure when its attached to the engine
) hub bolts at waterpump pulley are around 30mm apart (between bolts, not diagonally) and it sticks out from the engine about 60mm from the base of the hub to about the center of the fan blades.
I'd say the fan would have a much larger center hole as mine is attached by offset bolts in the same 30mm spacing to the hub bolts, i am imagining from most viscous fans i've seen that the fan bolts to the outside of the viscous housing.
Its no major, just the hum of the fan running constantly gets a tad annoying, and is probably robbing a good few of the thundering 74kw the engine puts out
(Must be time for an efi conversion, if only the parts were easy to come by).
