Maybe a stupid question with an obvious answer.....
Haven’t had to do this yet, but if you want to change a tyre with a high lift jack, where is the best place to position it on a Terrano. I wouldn't trust the Terrano bumpers for lifting off.
Cheers

Really you need to be lifting off the chassis , i wouldnt be lifting it off the body it will most likely crumple.

You need solid bar work attached to the chassis to jack from, the body and factory bumpers aren't strong enough to jack from

Thats what I thought.
Wondered if there was some other place because you cannot get to the chassis with those jacks. Definately need some form of bar work to expose the chassis to jack.

Not sure what others think about hi-lifts but they are not always the most stable of platforms to jack a vehicle with.
Ideal for recovery and emergency work - but not my personal favourite for maintenance.
Thoughts from anyone else?

Agee completely, but its a bit hard getting a trolley jack under the diff, when your diff is 20cm under ground.

Re: Using a hi lift jack on a standard Terrano??
as already said above you need some barwork and preferably jack off the sides its more stable than jacking off the front or rear and reduces the risk of the vehicle stepping sideways and coming off the jack
and as snotgoblin says be carefull with them they arent the most stable things and they do a lot of damage when the handle hits you in the face when your not expecting it
