Wrangler Heater stopped working

Post by phraza »

Ok, probably an easy fix, but wanted to see if anyone knew on here before i go ripping my dash off.

Basically ever since i installed my stereo the heater has stopped working. Just blows cold air.

I also noticed the below was just hanging behind the dash. Could I possibly knocked it off something?

Any help would be awesome, otherwise i'll rip the dash out again this weekend and find where it came from

Hey man, check your water level in the radiator then trace the heater hoses into the cabin. On the heater hose there should be a valve, this regulates the hot water flow into the heater. You should see a mechanical linkage moving as you turn the thermostat from hot to cold, if it doesn't work either the valve is stuffed or a control signal is not getting to the actuator.

Nah it's not an electrical wire, but a mechanical one and i can pull the steel cable through the housing (like its opening a valve or something)

Cheers

Neither is mine, its a mechanical linkage to the transmission. Did you read the two threads?

Yea i did, pretty sure it's not that. Mine's a manual and i have a little button next to the ignition to take the keys out. Thanks for your insight though, appreciate it
