and it starts again

Postby 2roky » Fri Jun 15, 2012 2:32 pm

finally the project ive always wanted to do since buying my 1st daihatsu has come to reality with acquiring my 3rd rocky (f300) for bugger all and not running.

my plans for it are to sas it with 84 surf diffs and coils. and to put a new power plant and drive line in it.

im toying with a few options for engines and drive lines. limited to the total length of it though so the shortest option will probably win.
#1 1uz, auto and hilux trans
#2 toyota v6 out of a surf with auto etc
#3 3.8 holden v6 auto and hilux trans
#4 v8 holden auto and hilux trans

so which is the shortest?

ill be setting this truck up to a winch challenge level as something a bit different

photos to come

been along time coming but finally the project has drive again and direction.
i cut all the ifs mounts etc off the chassis and plated it up to strengthen it. cut all the old spring mounts off the hilux front axle an....

ive decided to go 3link+panhard front end and coil overs allround.
have the front links made up (900mm long) just waiting on the last of the bushes (same as in the toyota surf trailing arms) to arrive and then i can mount the lot up and make the measurements for the coilovers.
