Just after a cheap uhf to mount in my 4WD for convoy travel and club trips.
Anyone know of any 2nd hand ones around? or good / cheap options?

Re: UHF Radio WANTED
you can get a 5w truck mount and a 2w handheld for that price, handhelds mean batterys which go flat
70 series prado (KZJ78) and 90 Series Prado (KZJ95)

Re: UHF Radio WANTED
I brought one of these:
4.7watt handhelds $159, just went straight to the supplier and I got some extras for nix.

Heaps clearer than my cheapie 2 watt hand helds, and definately has more range, By how much I'm not too sure.
Battery is rechargable and come with a drop in cradle, and has an adapter for the cigarette lighter.
Heaps of other accessory from the supplier. They have all sorts of bits for them.

Only played with it a few times, so no long term review.
Bad point is it's only a 40 channel jobbie.

Ive had one of these for several years now and its great, i'd buy another one even if was the same cost as the uniden 5watt units.
Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level then beat you with experiance!
