Had the same prob, not so much as getting a seal, but factory fitting is mounted far too low. my solution....

The vacant space left bottom of pic is the site of the factory air box.

Been wondering about that, When the twuck is out of warrantee, and suspect if the dealers saw this mod, that would be NOW!! lol I will put a schnorrekill in too.
Would it be possible to put the filter high up in the snorkill tube? Or would that be too much weight up high and lead to failure of the tube.
Or tip a light truck over.....

I am gonna put a compressor in the huge vacant space the airbox used to occupy. So I need to really think about where to filter incoming air.

I used to run a pod type filter on the top of the snorkle on my series 2 landrover, problems i had was getting wet, which effectively choked the engine a bit and getting smacked around by trees etc. If you can i'd be getting/keeping an airbox that you can fit an airfilter into, that way its tucked away safely. You can buy unifilters which are a foam type filter that you can wash out, reoil and reuse when they get wet or dirty.
