Thirsty TD27T

Post by ArvinSlayer »

300/34=8.8kms

I got 300kms, out of 34L of fuel....i cant see how? It had a recent oil change, the EGR mod, pod, and intercooler. i have a few loose vacuum lines, in particular i feel might an issue is the line going into the inlet of the intake manifold after the turbo, i still havent gotten around to drilling the hole and attaching that back, but, i dont really know if that could be the problem, so i am putting it out there for you guys to have a crack!

Peace

thats 11 liters per 100km's which is about right. i would consider that fairly good. it will vary a fair bit depending on driving style.

or 34ltr / 300ks = 0.113x100 = 11.3ltr/100ks

my hylux 5l (3ltr) van does around 10.5/11ltrs per 100k

so i wouldnt think the nassin isnt to bad... or is it???

That's the same, if not better than mine. 40L gets me around 300km. There's a 5km stretch of steep uphill on my 13km drive home though, and about the same on the way too work as well (Dunedin CBD to Mosgiel via Wakiri/3 mile hill for any Dunedinites out there). Most of my driving it too and from work.

My d21 navara with td27t get about 430km to 50l and is the same open road, town driving and towing. The milage was the same when it had a non turbo td27 just a bit more power now.

HA thats nothing...

33ltrs per hundy of LPG in my cruiser before that motor went boom.....

found that 1,2,4 cylinders 70psi or less
that 3,5 cylinders 120psi or less
and 7,6,8,cylinders were around 150psi

so effectively only realy running 3 cylinders and still able to line tow a 3.5t 20seater bus home on over a 100k trip (average speed of around 80K :D )

am hoping the new motor will be a whole heap less

Can't tell how much I get from a tank due to the 31" wheels and the speedo being way way out.
But I use way less fuel with the intercooler and water injection.

yes tweake it wasnt going fast without it, but now i have solved the issues, just had to plumb back all the lines, such as the vacuumbrake assit line, and the boost compensator, and it has brought by fuel right back up, m now getting 700kms to the full tank, good times!

Peace
