Re: cashy or quiet workshop in Auckland
Hi, to answer the PM in the weekend, I would have to use the same method of lying on my back and straining to get gearbox down and up. Need to have access to hoist and gearbox stand to make it easier. At this stage I would have to step sideways, but i could ask around a few mates that have workshops in that neck of the woods.
Cheers,
Cheers,
I keep looking for the loose nut behind the wheel, but I can't find it!!

I have a trans lift trolley jack thing....
If that helps.....
Just need to get the truck up high enough.

If I was closer I would do it for you mate. I would do it on the ground as well but I have home made ramps that make the truck go quite high and you get plenty of clearance. Did my old Hilux over a weekend and was pretty easy.

I made an extension for my 1 ton trolley jack to get enough height to change the front shocks in the nissan ute it was around 250mm of hollow bar, dont tell OSH but I be a trolley or bottle jack on a skateboard with a scissor jack on the rear/ towards the trans case to "fine tune" the leveling and alingment.
May I put foward you get a few mates round for a BBQ n put on a box or two, once their onto the third on ask for their opinions on how to refit the box.
Or if your married do a family barbie, all you have to do is say "I cant quite get it lined up" and the inlaws will be fighting to get under your 4wd to show you how it fits together. Then all you have to do is stand back and smile once they align the splines.
