where do they say you can't block it?
every bit you will find says block it.

i think the common place to block it is where the egr pipe meets the inlet manifold.
the tricky bit is disabling the egr butterfly in the intake. some people don't bother and end up with problems like blowing white smoke.

btw egr is exhaust gas recirculation. theres pipe on the back of the exhaust manifold that goes behind the head and into the intake. tons of pics around on how to block it.

My 2L-TE had the EGR removed before I got it but the butterflies were still in the manifold. I have just removed both today. Initially I seem to be getting a quicker response when I accelerate from a standstill, and more responsive at open road speeds. This could just be me being optimistic.

it will be a little bit quicker without the butterflies. not a big amount but noticeable. thats because your not starving the engine of air any more.

just be aware that the engine now pumps more air through so air filter will clog up quicker and air filter will make more of an impact on performance.

Tweake, I did around 100km in it today, on 33s. Definitely quicker off the mark and quicker response on road too. I'm happy. It's still a 2.4 slug at the end of the day though. LOL
